Choosing a bigger charger does not always charge your car faster. Your car's onboard AC charger sets the maximum, so a 22 kW wall unit only helps if the car and the property supply both support it.
7 kW (single-phase)
A common choice for homes. Suitable for overnight charging for most daily use.
11 kW (three-phase)
Faster overnight charging for cars that accept three-phase AC, when the property has a suitable supply.
22 kW (three-phase)
Only useful if the vehicle can accept 22 kW AC. Many cars cannot, so check your car's specification first.
Not sure?
Send us your car model and a photo of your distribution board and we will recommend the right size. See our home installation service.
Frequently asked questions
Is a 22 kW charger better than a 7 kW charger?
Only if your car can accept 22 kW AC and your property has a suitable three-phase supply. Otherwise the car limits the speed and a smaller charger charges just as fast.
How long does an EV charger installation take?
Most standard home installations are completed in a single visit once the site has been assessed and materials are confirmed. Longer cable runs, distribution board upgrades or building approvals can add time, and we confirm this at the site visit.
